Relationships require work, duh. It’s something we’ve heard time and time again. But many fail to understand, most of that work is working on yourself. Here are some books that’ll get you in a better head space and help you and your partner get on the same page (ha, get it?).
What? You thought I’d be recommending really mushy-gushy books? Nope. One of the most tragic things in life is caring about what other people think or worrying about their opinions. Nothing feels more freeing than letting go of that burden. And perhaps one of the most toxic things in a relationship is worrying about what other people may think, how they view your relationship or comparing your relationship to others. Get this book, read it, and it’ll set you straight. You’ll learn how to not give a f*ck and to live your life unapologetically. Being true to yourself can lead to a happier and less stressful life and therefore a healthier relationship with yourself and your significant other.
This book will help you feel more secure and zen about your choices. If you’re in a place in your life where you are confused, lost, or in transition in one way or another this book will help ease your mind and give you great insight on living your best life. As the description states it’s “a practical guide to personal freedom”. I truly believe our lives have seasons, as do our relationships and this book will help you better understand that.
This book is on my list, I haven’t gotten to it just yet. But I will! Everyone has their own “love language”. Everyone feels loved or receives love differently. For instance some one may need more physical signs like hugs, kisses, sex, or even eye contacts to feel assurance while others may need to be able to talk and express themselves through conversations in order to feel loved. Learning your love language and then your partners can lead to a healthier relationship. You might learn a better way to express the type of love they need.
